Horsemanship, Leadership, and Life - An After School Program

As with horses, people gauge the trustworthiness of leaders by the consistency and congruence of their actions and communications. In addition to learning to care for horses, participants become enthusiastic, practice responsibility, discover pride, and experience empathy which results in positive self-esteem all while developing a comprehensive knowledge of horses and horse care.

5 or 10 Week Winter Program for Children Ages 7 - 15

o   Each kid will be assigned a horse that they are responsible for.

o   This non-riding, equine learning and leading horsemanship program emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and leadership skills which can be utilized in everyday life.

o   The afterschool horsemanship program highlights your child's innate leadership abilities as they develop healthy relationships and communication skills in the company of our horses and other children. All our work is on the ground, and there will be no riding. 

o   When you put your children in the hands of our team of experienced professionals, they learn to read non-verbal cues, develop compassion, and understand their personal space and the needs of others.

o   Our Horsemanship, Leadership, and Life Program is not your typical afterschool program, your child will have hands-on experience in our stables, pastures, and learning center with conversations and activities that emphasize safety around the horses, horse behavior, basic anatomy, how to care for tack, parts of tack, how to utilize a Theraplate, equine communication and body language, grooming and general horse care as well as horsemanship and of course many horse fun facts! Participants will also interact with other animals that include but are not limited to: Mini Donkey, Mini Cow, Pig, Goats, Chicken, and Ducks!
