Our Volunteer Program

 

The success of Bethpage Equestrian Center is directly impacted by the number of volunteers willing to give of their time. Volunteers work alongside staff to directly support the care of equines and other animals as well as assist in daily barn tasks. Bethpage Equestrian Center utilizes volunteers to help with a variety of tasks such as but not limited to:

  • Leading and Side Walking

  • Provide emotional support to our riders who are growing in confidence while also developing their riding skills

  • Birthday Parties

  • Grooming and Tacking Horses in Preparation for Lessons

  • Bathing

  • General Office Support

  • Assistance with Special Events

  • Barn and Office Clean Up

  • Tack Room Organization and Equipment Maintenance

  • Greeters and Tours

  • Pony Rides

  • Assist in Getting Out and Bringing in Trails

  • Feeding

  • Paddock/Stall Cleaning

  • Miscellaneous Chores around the Farm

  • Contribute to Animal Care

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age or older and commit to a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Volunteers must attend orientation meetings and complete at least 8 hours of supervised training as well as have all paperwork filled out by their parent or legal guardian prior to being able to volunteer.

 

*ANY FORM OF BULLY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM VOLUNTEER PROGRAM*
